Seafolk Charter Guide: plan your holiday at sea

1. With or without a skipper? Choose your sailing style

The first decision sets the pace of your holiday: With skipper – Absolute relaxation: Don't have a nautical license or simply want to leave all responsibilities behind? A professional skipper will take care of navigation and safety, showing you the most hidden coves and the best anchorages. Without skipper (Bareboat) – Freedom at the helm: If you hold a valid nautical license and have the right experience, you can be the captain. You will have full freedom to chart your own course, taking full responsibility for the boat.

2. When to cast off?

The sailing season runs from May to October, and every month has its own magic:

The Seafolk tip: Act in advance! Booking early guarantees the best choice of models from the fleet and the most competitive rates.

3. How to choose the ideal boat?

The perfect boat depends on who you are and who you are traveling with. The Private Travel consultants will guide you by evaluating:

4. What is included (and what is not) in the charter?

Transparency above all. The basic Seafolk rate generally includes:

Extra costs to budget for: The skipper (if requested), the outboard motor for the tender, towels, galley (food and drink provisions), fuel consumed, marine park fees or commercial ports during the week, and water toys (such as SUP or Seabob) to enjoy while at anchor.

5. The perfect luggage: what to bring on board?

On a boat, the rule is "less is more". Forget rigid suitcases (impossible to store in the cabins) and choose a soft duffel bag. Inside, pack:

6. Check-in, briefing, and route planning

Your holiday officially begins on Saturday afternoon at the base port. Before stepping on board, you will have an in-depth briefing with the technical staff: they will explain how the boat works, the safety equipment, and how to manage the onboard systems. If you chose a holiday with a skipper, this will be the perfect time to check the weather charts and plan the itinerary of your dreams together.

7. Security deposit and insurance coverage

Before setting sail, a security deposit is required via credit card to cover any potential damage. For an extra layer of peace of mind, you can opt for a deposit reduction or additional insurance policies.

8. Returning to port and check-out

Weeks fly by when you are having fun. The return to the base port is scheduled for Friday evening (with the option to sleep on board the last night). On Saturday morning, the staff will carry out the technical check-out to inspect the boat and release the deposit.

In short: is it complicated? No, it’s an unforgettable experience!

Planning a boat trip is much easier when you have the right partner by your side. The Sea Folk staff and the Private Travel booking office are ready to guide you step by step: from choosing the model to defining the route, right up to the moment you set sail.
